Albert Coles 'Prince Albert' Pattern Antique Coin Silver Fish Slice, NYC, 1850s

This pattern was adapted from the English pattern named after Queen Victoria's consort, Prince Albert. It is a wonderful pattern with shaped sides and simple leaf decoration. The reverse of the handle is engraved 'Mrs Victoria Elliott/ from her friend/ Sallie.' The blade is pierced and beautifully engraved with a fish amongst wavy scrolls.

This lovely server is marked with Albert Coles trademark. It measures 11.75 inches long, weighs 3.80 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
