These mid 18th century sterling candlesticks are rare examples in a classic style.

Made from multiple cast parts, the sticks are quite elegant and in beautiful condition. The midsections of the stems are octagonal and splay outwards conforming to the shoulders covered with leaf decorations. The socles above the shoulders are executed in circular form. The removable bobeche are designed to match the bases with shaped edges and leaf decorated corners.

The shaped, platform bases are cast with bold leaf design in the corners. Rising from wells on the tops of the platforms are the stems. The lower sections of the stems are circular and decorated with various round devices.

These stunning candlesticks are fully hallmarked underneath. They measure 8.75 inches high, weigh a combined 35.70 troy ounces and are in excellent antique condition. The bobeche are unmarked and have minor restoration.
