R & W Wilson Antique Coin Silver Fish Server, Philadelphia, PA, c. 1860

A blade so beautifully engraved is nothing short of a work of art. Here the silversmith creates one of the largest fish knives we have had out of a single piece of silver. The handle is decorated on both sides in the classical and elegant King design with the front bearing a 'WFN' monogram. The shaped blade is completely engraved to display a stunning dolphin (renaissance style) complete with fins, scales, curled tail, etc.

This rare server is marked 'R.&W. WILSON/ PHILADELPHIA.' It measures 14 inches long, weighs 6.10 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
