This elegant water pitcher is a beautiful example of Tiffany silver made just after the turn of the 20th century. The shaped oval body has vertical flutes hand-engraved with shells and hanging garlands. The larger areas are also hand-decorated with panel scenes incorporating shells, flowers, and other beaux-arts designs.

A horizontal, applied band of molding delineates the body from the gracefully curved neck which is decorated around its lower section. the rim also has an applied complimentary band for decoration and also acts to strengthen the edge. The bold, shaped handle is also engraved with similar elements seen on the body. Engraved in a small cartouche on the front is a wonderful 'B' initial.

This exquisite water pitcher is marked underneath 'TIFFANY & Co/ 15062 MAKERS 1179/ STERLING SILVER/ 925-1000/ m/ B3/ 4½ PINTS.' It measures 9 inches across the handle and spout by just over 9.75 inches tall, weighs 37.10 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
