Gorham Antique Sterling Silver Palm Beach Serving Spoon, Providence, RI, c. 1900

Notify me when similar is available:

This unusual server is a beautiful serving spoon. The handle is formed on the front and back as the trunk of a palm tree. The back of the blade displays lovely palm tree fronds extending out onto the bowl as part of the cast design; the back of the handle displays 'G&CO PALM BEACH FLORIDA'.

Exclusively made for Greenleaf & Crosby, the fine jewelers on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, this pattern is rarely seen today.

This fun server is marked with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING.' It measures 8.5 inches long, weighs 2.15 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition with gilding on the bowl removed.

Provenance: From the collection of Dale E. Bennett.
