English Pair of Sterling Silver Shakers, London, 1959/60

Notify me when similar is available:

This lovely pair of small table shakers were made in England and retailed by the famous firm of James Robinson, Inc. in New York City.

The bodies are octagonal with stepped bases and paneled sides with applied 'S' scroll handles. The covers are nicely pierced with applied octagonal finials surmounted with a simple bead.

One shaker is slightly shorted than the other.

These beautiful shakers are made of heavy gauge silver. They are fully marked underneath and the covers are marked with the sovereign's head and lion passant. We have not been unable to identify the maker. They measure 3.25 inches high, weigh a combined 5.45 troy ounces and are in excellent condition.
