It doesn't get any better than dinner plates by Paul Storr.  border detail of Regency Sterling Dinner Plates - 12, Paul Storr, London, c. 1808/9Storr's great regency silver was purchased by all the royal families in Europe, and these plates would have been comfortable with any of them.  Raised by hand to a circle with shaped points, these stunning plates have a cast and applied gardooned border that features beautifully articulated cast acanthus leaves at the shaped points.

Paul Storr was the greatest silversmith of his era. As the principal silversmith of Rundell, Bridge & Rundell (who served as royal jewelers and silversmiths to their majesties George III, George IV and their  extended families), Storr produced some of the most exciting, exquisite and expensive silver ever made.

coat of armsEach plate measures  10.25 inches in diameter, is engraved with the coat of arms of Mills (of Tolmers, Herts. and Russell Square) and is fully marked on the back.  Together they weigh a very hefty 257.8 troy ounces.   Retaining their original surface, these magnificent and rare sterling dinner plates are in very good antique condition and have a beautiful patina.
