Extremely rare Indian Colonial Silver Slotted Platter Spoon, Hamilton & Co., Calcutta, c. 1812 - 20
These rare serving spoons, with slotted dividers in the bowl for straining vegetables, gravy or stew, are rare in British silver – they are almost unheard of in colonial silver. We've never seen this form in Indian silver. This fine example in the fiddle, thread and shell pattern, measures 12.25 inches long and is in excellent condition. (Possibly a monogram has been removed, but this is not a sure thing.)
