Reed & Barton ‘La Parisienne’ Sterling Punch Ladle, c. 1905
This lovely punch ladle features beautifully cast chrysanthemums in a wonderful art nouveau setting. Reed & Barton made some of the finest American art nouveau silver, and this is a particularly lovely piece. We’ve had other pieces in this pattern over the years, but this has the deepest and most intricate casting of any that we’ve had. The organic whiplash design flows beautifully into the shaped and gilded bowl.
This lovely punch ladle is stamped on the back with Reed & Barton’s trademark along with ‘STERLING/ PAT. APR 15 1902’. It measures 15.5 inches long, weighs 8.95 troy ounces and is monogrammed ‘AJ’ in a cursive style. It is in very good/excellent condition with light wear to the gilding underneath the bowl.
