Of square shape with inward shaped corners, this lovely and heavy water pitcher is boldly bulbous at the waist.  Both the large spout and wide spreading foot compliment the form and are reinforced with identical applied molded bands.  An applied scroll handle balances the design.Monogram on the Marcus & Co. Sterling Silver Water Pitcher, New York, NY, c. 1910  One side is monogrammed 'MES' in an artistic style.

This wonderful water pitcher weighs 37.1 troy ounces, measures 8.5 inches high and 9 inches across the spout and handle.  It is in very good antique condition , marked 'Marcus & Co./ New York', 'Sterling', '1748/ 5 Pints', and with the Marcus 'M' trademark.
