Ball, Black & Co Sterling Silver Gravy Ladle, c. 1865

This is a lovely sterling silver gravy ladle with a great design.  Strong, classical shapes and multiple castings are used to create this wonderful piece. This bold handle is attached to the deep, round bowl with side-pouring spout. 

This unusual sterling silver ladle is marked 'BALL, BLACK & Co/ STERLING'. It measures 8.75 inches long, has never been engraved and is in very good antique condition.
