This stunning antique silver serving trowel would most likely have been used for fish.
The long, slender handle has a feather-edge design and a pierced top with twisted ribbon decoration. The feather edge motif is carried along the edge of the flat
blade which is finely pierced with a basket and swirling foliate designs. On the base, opposite the shell device, is an engraved crest of a squirrel.
This rare antique silver server is fully hallmarked on the back. It measures 11.75 inches long, weighs 3.80 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition with a
couple minor restorations to pierce-work connections (much better condition that you usually see in this form).
