Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Enameled and Hammered Bowl, c. 1920
With a lightly lobed bowl and foot, this bowl features lovely enamel work around the rim, foot and underneath. Each
area of enamel decoration includes turquoise foliate decoration with orange circular devices (flowers?).
The rim of the bowl, with two drawn and applied bands enclosing the enamel decoration on the exterior, has two lines of enameling inside the bowl also.
The lobed pedestal foot has enameling similar to the band above. Incredibly, the bowl is also enameled underneath around the markings – a distinctive touch
that indicates the quality of the piece.
The bowl and foot appear hand raised with a beautiful shimmering surface.
This bowl is marked underneath 'Tiffany & Co./ 19521/ Makers/ 2805/ Sterling/ 925-1000/ m'. The 19521 model number indicates that the
design dates to 1919. It measures 5.35 inches wide by 2.35 inches high, weighs 10.15 troy ounces, is not monogrammed and is in very good
antique condition with perfect enamel (although the silver appears a bit polished in the bowl's center).
