Wood & Hughes Coin Silver 'Gadroon' Pattern Large Serving Fork, c. 1860's

Gadroon is a bold pattern of renaissance inspiration with a classical 'egg and dart' border framed by renaissance bosses and strapwork.  This large serving fork features wonderful piercing and bright cut decoration along the tines and may have been originally intended for serving fish.

Measuring 10.25 inches long, this large coin silver server weighs 4.55 troy ounces.  It is in very good/ excellent antique condition and monogrammed 'A.E.V.' in an old English style.  It is marked with the Wood & Hughes trademark.
