A wonderful and useful piece, this coin silver lovely butter knife was made in the rare Armor pattern which features
renaissance style strap work and a trefoil at the end of the handle. It is engraved on the handle 'M.W.A. / Dec. 1862.' In a cursive style.

Tiffany sold before they made their own silver. This piece was sold by William D. Briggs, a retailer whose New York location at 56 Stanton St. was working from 1839-76.
This rare coin silver server marked on the blade 'J.P. Patent 1860' and with a star, the other side is marked 'Wm. D.
Briggs'. It measures 8.875 inches long and is in very good antique condition with light wear to the highlights.
