This wonderful flat server is designed with a portrait medallion identified in Silver Medallion Flatware by Don Soeffing as Minerva (p. 76). The handle is designed as a classical column with a rosette midpoint and the blade is wonderfully engraved with classical decoration. The back of the handle is engraves ‘AE McC’.
This wonderful sterling server is stamped '925' for sterling silver, 'PATENT', and by the great New York retailer ‘Ball, Black & CO’. It measures 10.5 inches long, weigh 3.50 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
