Although we consider the right end a spear, this item is pictured in the 1886-90 Gorham catalogs and titled 'Olive Spoon and Fork'. This lovely server is in the form of an olive branch with two leaves and an olive.

This wonderfully cast piece has a spear at one end and an elongated bowl decorated and pierced like an olive leaf. Entirely gilded and detailed with hand-engraved finishing, this exceptional server incorporates great aesthetic design and functionality.
