Beautifully proportioned, this bowl is a wonderful example of hand raised silver from Arthur Stone's shop. It has a hand drawn applied band around the rim, a
complementary banded foot and features the lovely soft hammered surface typical of Stone's shop.
Stone ran one of the most important arts & crafts silver shops in the country. Items were hand made using traditional silversmithing techniques. An innovator,
Stone let the other masters who worked for him sign the items they made. This bowl was raised by Edward L. Caron. For more information on Stone see Arthur J. Stone, 1847-1938: Designer and Silversmith.
This bowl is marked underneath with the Stone trademark, 'STERLING', and Caron's master mark of 'c'. It measures 8.125 inches in diameter, 3.5 inches high
and weighs 16.85 troy ounces. It is in very good antique condition with light scratching from use.
