This elegant coin silver cup measures just under 3.5 inches tall and 4.25 inches wide across the handle.  It weighs 4.35 troy ounces and is in very good/excellent antique condition.

Provenance: William Henry Clarke was born October 18th 1863 the eldest son of Henry Stuart Clarke and Emma R. Swan and lived in the c. 1770  family home at 40 Neponset Street, South Walpole, MA, now known as the Col. Timothy Mann house for its first owner and builder.  William H. Clarke was his great-grandson.
Timothy Mann House, home of William Henry Clarke

William's father, Henry S. Clarke owned a mill for the Timothy Mann House Signmanufacture of woolen cloth on the nearby Neponset River and, according to the 1870 census, was a wealthy and successful businessman.

We have been unable to identify 'EDM', although William H. Clarke's grandmother's maiden initials were 'EBM' (Elizabeth Betsey Mann, Col. Timothy Mann's granddaughter).  Could the engraver have made a mistake?

By descent in the family.
