Gorham Sterling Aesthetic Movement Black Coffee Service, c. 1883
Gorham produced this rare and lovely set in the early 1880’s. Its unusual design in a Japanese motif incorporates high aesthetic elements. Also unusual are the individual trays for each piece. This service is a unique ‘experimental’ special order work, and in excellent condition retaining the original rope carved ivory insulators.
