John Wendt 'Moresque' Pattern Sterling Silver Coffee Spoons - 10, c. 1870's
John Wendt made some wonderful silver and his flatware designs are quite unique . 'Moresque' is one of the more exotic patterns he made and one of our favorites.
With a lovely ornamented design on both the front and back of the handles, these coffee spoons also have a soft matte finish and light gilding to both sides of the bowls. The back is engraved with a lovely gothic 'C' initial.
The backs of these spoons are stamped 'PATENT/ 925' and by the Philadelphia retailer 'JE CALDWELL & Co'. They measure just under 5 inches long, weigh a
combined 4.95 troy ounces and are in excellent condition.
