English arts and crafts replica of the "Assyrian Bowl" by Nathan and Hayes, assayed in Chester, 1906. Fully hand raised and chased, resting on a ring foot, this cup was made by a firm which
specialized in making fine silver in the "antique" taste. Understanding the public's captivation with the archeological finds in Greece, Egypt and the Middle East, Nathan and Hayes met the market demand with high
quality copies and near copies of exciting and important artifacts. It was sold to us a large "wine taster" and we would not be surprised if the original use of the cup was wine related. In excellent
condition, it measures 4.5" in diameter, just under 2" high and weighs approximately 8 troy ounces. Price: SOLD Itemnumber: H7144 |
