This beautiful example of a rare form has an equally rare handle featuring a female bust. Extremely well cast, this bust wears a beaded necklace and rests upon cast acanthus foliage. The hinge connects from a scroll behind her neck to the slightly domed lid with an elegantly scrolled thumbpiece. This urn form vessel with a beaded midsection, exemplifies the classical style popular in the late 19th century. It measures 5.5 inches high, weighs approximately 9 troy ounces and is monogrammed "F' in an Old English style. It is in good condition. The insulators have been replaced and the foot has been pushed down. This is not very noticeable from the top, but you can see it from underneath.
