Gorham sterling repousse fruit or centerpiece bowl, c. 1889 from the Ames Family of North Easton, MA.
This beautiful bowl has lovely areas of repoussed roses in a very 'Cluny' like style surrounded by curved reeding which matches the four reeded bun feet. The undulating top edge measures between 2.5 and 2.75 inches high and encloses a completely gilded interior. The bowl is 10.5 inches in diameter and weighs approximately 18 troy ounces. It is in excellent condition and bears the 'A' cypher of the Ames family.
