Georg Jensen ‘Cactus’ Pattern Sterling Silver Carving Set, Copenhagen, 1933-44

Cactus is a lovely pattern of blossoming cacti centering an ovoid handle and functional end.  Carving sets came in different sizes with this being the largest.  Detail of handle on Georg Jensen ‘Cactus’ Pattern Sterling Silver Carving Set, Copenhagen, 1933-44The original saber-shaped blade of the knife is marked 'STAINLESS STEEL' on one side and by the blade manufacturer 'FRANK COSS/ SHEFFIELD' on the other.  The fork is stamped 'STAINLESS'.

This lovely carving fork and knife set is marked on the handles with the Jensen 'GJ' in a rectangle mark used from 1933-44.  They are also marked 'STERLING/ DENMARK'.  The knife measures just shy of 12.5 inches long and the fork is 10.75 inches long.  They have never been engraved and are in good antique condition with light surface scratches from use.  The fork also has dings to one side and the top of the handle has been dented down as shown in the picture below.
