Gorham 'Calla Lily' Pattern Sterling Silver Sugar Spoon, c. 1868
An early and rare pattern by
Gorham, the 'Calla Lily' pattern features a wonderfully detailed die stamped and hand-finished calla lily at the top placed against detailed lily leaves wrapped with vine-like
wire. The shaped bowl is reinforced and ornamented with ivy leaves, similar to those used in Gorham's 'Egyptian Ivy' and 'Isis' patterns, at the join to the handle.
This rare sterling serving spoon is marked with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING'. It measures 7 inches long, weighs 1.05 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
