Great art nouveau and aesthetic designs combine in both the glass and sterling to create this stunning decanter. A swirling foliate sterling handle is mounted to the sterling collar.
A detachable stopper is beautifully designed with twisting foliage from which sprout stems with leaves and flower buds.
The hand-blown, clear glass body is curved and cut with lovely foliage and aquatic scenes. Decorating the larger, lower portion of the body are three types of fish
swimming amongst the horizontal, wavy cuttings representing water.
Rising from the water are swirling stems with leaves and buds which match the design on the stopper. The combination of artistry in the silver and glass is just wonderful.
This exceptional decanter is marked STERLING on both the collar and stopper. The glass was possibly made by the famous English glass firm of Thomas Webb. It
measures 11 inches high to the top of the handle and is in excellent antique condition.
