A stunning example of Boston arts & crafts silver, this service, completely raised by hand, features wonderful lobed bodies. Drawn and applied ring banding decorate
and strengthen the rims of all the pieces. Soft, overall hammering to the surface makes the pieces sparkle. Scroll handles and graceful spouts enhance the overall
attractiveness of the service. Carved ivory is used as insulators on the handles to the pots, as a knob handle to the original burner for the kettle and as finials to the domed covers.

Boston, he acted as a mentor to other important smiths and was himself a very highly regarded artisan. In 1918, he won the "Medalist" award from the Boston Society of
Arts and Crafts - one of only eight silversmiths to receive this prestigious award, the highest honor bestowed by the society. He was in partnership with
this son Edwin c. 1930-50. For more information, please see The Art that is Life by Wendy Kaplan, et al.; Leinonen is discussed on pp. 273-274.
This beautiful coffee service is marked underneath with Leinonen's 'KLF' initials along with 'STERLING' and the model numbers 40, 41, 42, 43, 44 and 45. The original
