Bailey & Co. Coin Silver Stuffing Spoon, c. 1860
This very elegant platter or stuffing spoon has a long handle bordered on both sides with classical beading. The top front
is engraved with a shield and an old English style 'F' initial.
Bailey & Co, who became Bailey, Banks & Biddle in 1878, were fine jewelers in Philadelphia. This
spoon may have been made by Peter Krider or George Sharp, but there is no maker's mark present.
The back of this coin silver serving spoon is stamped "BAILEY & CO'. It measures 13 inches long, weighs 5.80 troy ounces and is in excellent condition.
