Dominick & Haff ‘Louis XIV’ Sterling Fish Service for 12, c. 1900

This rare and lovely set includes 12 fish forks and 12 flat-handled fish knives.  The ‘Louis XIV’ pattern incorporates various rococo scroll designs to the front and back of the handles. These scrolls also decorate the top edges of the forks and the upper part of the shaped knife blades. An ‘MGR’ monogram is engraved at the top of the handles. 

This uncommon fish service (it’s the first full service we’ve had in a few years) is marked on the back with Dominick & Haff’s trademark and ‘STERLING’. The forks measure just under 7 inches long and the knives measure 7.75 inches long. The 24 pieces have a combined weight of 38.35 troy ounces. This elegant service is in very good antique condition.
