English Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs by William Auld, Edinburgh, c. 1800

These lovely tongs were made by William Auld and are wonderfully decorated with hand-engraved bright-cut edges and wavy line decoration terminating with pad ends. The reserve at the elbow has never been monogrammed.

These beautiful sugar tongs are marked with the duty mark, the thistle mark and the makers mark 'WA'. They measure 5.5 inches long, weigh 1.0 troy ounce and are in very good antique condition.
