This unusual footed tray has a Chippendale-style stepped edge with three cast and applied paw feet. The interior is hand-engraved with Chinese inspired
decoration including a fence, exotic foliage, structures, a boat, figures, etc. Two love birds are in flight above an engraved 'PBM' monogram.
This lovely tray is marked underneath with Dominick & Haff's trademark along  with 'STERLING' and by the
Pittsburgh retailer 'W.W. WATTLES & SONS'. It is also stamped with the model number '542'/ B/ 12IN/ CHINESE CHIPPENDALE/ REPRODUCTION PERIOD OF 1754'. It weighs 25.80 troy
ounces and is in very good antique condition with light surface wear from normal use.
