English Sterling 'Queen's' Pattern Fish or Dessert Service by Ashfort & Harthorn, Sheffield, 1838/39 – 23 pieces
This lovely and early set of flatware is in a variant of the popular King's pattern and consists of 12 forks and 11 knives. It is a little fancier than the King pattern with scalloped
shells at the top being more pronounced and classical leaf decoration on the handles. Along with the hollow sterling handles, the tines section of the forks and the blades to the
knives are solid sterling silver. An 'EP' monogram is engraved below the shell in a lovely script style.
Each piece is fully marked on the blades and handles. The forks measure 6.75 inches long and the knives measure 8.25 inches long. Aside from missing 1 knife, it is a lovely service
in very good antique condition.
