This lovely service includes 12 knives and forks. Flatware services like this were intended to be multi-functional: for dessert, fruit or fish. The wonderful
hollow handles are decorated on both sides with a feathered edge design with one side bearing a crest. The tines to the forks are sterling and the blades to the knives are new stainless replacements.
The handles to the knives and backs of the forks shoulders are fully hallmarked. The forks are also stamped 'CRICHTON BROS/ LONDON MADE'. According to the 'Pocket Edition of Jacksons Hallmarks by Pickford, the Crichton firm were 'retailers of usually fine
reproductions of early pieces'. The forks and knives measure 7.25 and 8 inches respectively and are in very good antique condition.
