Durgin 'Madame DuBarry' Sterling Silver Serving Spoon

As with most great serving pieces by Durgin, this is very heavy and has a wonderful, bold design.  Garlands of laurel leaves and scrolling elements decorate the handle and are repeated in the bowl.  The pattern is also continued onto the back of the handle.  On the front, there is an engraved 'MH' monogram in a script style . The back is stamped with Durgin's trademark, 'STERLING' and by the retailer 'FOSTER & CO'.  It measures 9.75 inches long, weighs 4.85 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
