English Sterling Silver Tea Caddy by Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard, London, 1809/10
This beautiful, circular tea caddy is wonderfully designed with vertical lobes around the body. This design, originating at the wood and silver finial, is incorporated into the
hinged lid. An engraved lion over a coronet crest is engraved on the side and there is a keyhole and lock mechanism in the front. At the base is an applied ring foot.
This very elegant sterling silver tea caddy is fully hallmarked underneath and the lid is marked with the lion passant and date mark. It measures 4.5 inches high by 5.75
inches round, weighs 16.10 troy ounces and is in very good/excellent antique condition, although there is no key.
