'New Art' is one of the loveliest and rarest American Art Nouveau patterns ever created. The heavy piece is designed with overlapping leaves terminating at the top
with bold narcissus flowers in full bloom. The cartouche has never been monogrammed. The bowl is bordered at the top with a wonderful display of dense iris foliage
and flowers, with the design flowing down the sides onto the bowl. The William B. Durgin Company, from Concord, New Hampshire, only made fancy items in 'New
Art'. According to their old catalog, only 'fancy pieces' were made in New Art.
This wonderful antique sugar spoon is marked with Durgin's 'D' trademark and 'STERLING'. It measures 6.5 inches long, weighs 2.0 troy ounces and is in excellent
antique condition with light light surface scratches to the bowl.
