Patented in 1878, the 'Olympian' pattern is one of the greatest cast patterns, almost certainly designed by Antoine Heller while at Tiffany. A multi-motif pattern,
servers and place pieces in this pattern depict scenes from various Greek myths.
This tomato server depicts the story of Orpheus about the love between Eurydice and Orpheus; the scene is of Orpheus with his lyre searching for his beloved. The blade has a shaped edge and lovely piercing.
This lovely server is stamped 'TIFFANY & Co./STERLING/PAT1878/C. The 'C' would date this server from 1902-1907. This rare serving piece measures 8
inches long, weighs 2.85 troy ounces, has never been monogrammed and is in good condition with very slight wear to the pattern highlights.
