Tiffany 'Olympian' Sterling Fish Slice, late 19th century

'Olympian' is a wonderful pattern which depicts various scenes from mythology on various pieces. This beautiful ice cream slice depicts Paris presenting the golden apple to Venus (see Tiffany Silver Flatware by William Hood). The back edge of the long shaped blade curves upward.  The back of the server is also decorated with a wonderful goddess mask and classical motifs. It is monogrammed 'AW' at the top.

This dramatic serving piece is marked on the back 'TIFFANY & CO/ STERLING/ PATENT 1878/ M' (1876-91 date mark).  It measures 12.5 inches long, weighs 5.80 troy ounces and is in excellent, very crisp condition.
