Whiting Floral Sterling Silver Bonbonniere, c. 1900

This rare server is a wonderful example of great art nouveau design.  The handle, in the shape of a curved stem, features flowers emerging from their stock.  The bowl is a masterful casting of flowers surrounded by intricate scrolling foliage.

This lovely server is stamped with Whiting's trademark and 'STERLING/ 5741. and by the Washington, DC retailer 'GALT & BRO'.  It measures 8 inches long, weighs 4.95 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition with light wear to the overall gilding.
