This is a charming piece of coin silver from Boston with wonderful decoration.  The hinged lid with beaded rim has a beautiful foliate garland engraved around the conical-shaped finial. The body also exhibits very fine foliate engraving around a ‘MAJ’ monogram. The partnership of Haddock Lincoln & Foss are generally considered retailers rather than makers. This mustard pot was purchased with this similar coin silver nutmeg grater.
This great coin silver mustard pot is marked underneath ‘Haddock, Lincoln & Foss/ Coin/ BOSTON’.  It measures 3.25 inches high, weighs 3.95 troy ounces, and is in very good antique condition retaining a little of the original gilding to the interior.
