Rogers Brothers/ Meriden Britannia Co 'Lorne' Pattern Sterling Pie Server, c. 1880
Rogers Brothers/ Meriden Britannia Co ‘Lorne’ Pattern Sterling Pie Server, c. 1880

This pattern was made in both silverplate and sterling and introduced in 1878.  This is the first time I've seen it in sterling.  Detail of Rogers Brothers/ Meriden Britannia Co ‘Lorne’ Pattern Sterling Pie Server, c. 1880It is a lovely pattern of varying aesthetic designs. Beautiful and complimentary hand -engraving decorates the blade.  The top of the handle is monogrammed with an Old English style 'H'.

This beautiful pie server is marked on the back with a deer head above 'MB' and 'STERLING'.  It measures just over 9 inches long, weighs 2.80 troy ounces and is in very good condition with light scratches on the blade from normal use.
