Tiffany & Co Antique Sterling Silver Tall Vase, NYC, NY, c. 1895

This tall vase has all the attributes one expects from Tiffany & Co., such as beauty, elegance, great quality, and great presence.

A plain, slender neck splays outwards with an exceptional, pierced collar with classical acanthus leaves and berries. Gilding to its interior creates a nice contrast, along with chased details on the leaves. The bulbous body, with its beautifully engraved 'ERC' monogram, is decorated with applied, rising acanthus foliage topped with clusters of berries. This motif is also included in a downward direction on the raised, domed base.   

This magnificent vase is marked underneath 'TIFFANY & CO/ 12490 MAKERS 7297/ STERLING SILVER/ 925-1000/ T.' It is also marked with import marks for Ireland with an 'X' date code for 1965. It measures 21.5 inches tall, weighs 48.40 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
